Boxxer Announces New Co-Main Events: Francesca Hennessy-Ellie Boutell and Gradus Kraus-Boris Crighton Step Up to the Plate
Following the unfortunate cancellation of the highly anticipated Adam Azim-Gustavo Lemos bout due to injuries, Boxxer has swiftly announced a thrilling replacement. The promotion's Saturday event will now feature two electrifying co-main events, showcasing the talents of Francesca Hennessy and Ellie Boutell, as well as Gradus Kraus and Boris Crighton.
In a display of skill and determination, Hennessy and Boutell will engage in a WBC bantamweight title eliminator, an all-English affair at London's Copper Box Arena. The WBC bantamweight title is currently held by the formidable Cherneka 'Sugar Neekz' Johnson, who is poised to defend her crown.
The junior welterweight division will witness an intense battle between Azim and Lemos, both suffering hand injuries. However, Boxxer remains committed to their vision, rescheduling their IBF title eliminator for a later date in 2025. Kraus, a rising star from the Netherlands, is a prospect that Ben Shalom holds in high regard, despite his stable boasting a predominantly British roster, similar to Crighton's.
"While we were undoubtedly disappointed to lose Adam Azim as our headliner, we are thrilled to present two of the world's most exciting young fighters on Saturday night," the promoter expressed. "Francesca Hennessy and Gradus Kraus possess the potential to dominate their respective divisions and emerge as future pound-for-pound stars."
Despite the setback, Boxxer has demonstrated remarkable resilience, securing eight fights that highlight the incredible talent within its ranks. All the fighters have been diligently training, and their opportunities on Saturday are well-deserved, ensuring an unforgettable evening of boxing action.
