Mike Vrabel is on the cusp of making history if the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl. But here's where it gets controversial... While Tom Flores, Mike Ditka, Tony Dungy, and Doug Pederson have all won a Super Bowl as both a player and a coach, none of them did so with the same team. Vrabel, however, has the chance to be the first person in history to win a Super Bowl as a coach and player for the same franchise. If the Patriots triumph, Vrabel will join Gary Kubiak as the only coach to reach a Super Bowl with the same team as both a coach and a player. But that's not all. Vrabel is also the eighth coach in history to lead a team to the Super Bowl in his first year with the team, joining the likes of Kubiak, Jim Caldwell, Jon Gruden, Bill Callahan, George Seifert, Red Miller, and Don McCafferty. So, not only is Vrabel on the brink of making history, but he's also setting a new standard for coaching excellence. But what do you think? Do you think Vrabel will make history? Or is there another coach who has done something similar? Let us know in the comments below!
